Indie Author Thoughts

Being an Indie author has it's difficulties and its perks. The joys of it outweigh the downfalls when you're just starting out. Being able to publish your book the way you want it to be is the best feeling. I want my story to be told how I wrote it without someone telling me I need to change it. What one person might think isn't important, is important to me. I wrote it because I felt it needed to be in the story to build the feelings I'm trying to portray. I just want my stories out there and I hope even a handful of people end up enjoying it.

As much as I would love the validation that comes with being traditionally published, I don't want the heartache that comes along with it...being told, "It's good, but cut this out or change this. The book is too long and doesn't need this much plot." But it does. The forbidden Powers Series is my best example. All the small little details I put in, in the first book and even the second, end up coming into play later on in the story. For those who have read it, the ring Liam buys for her at the auction...that comes into play and ends up playing a big roll in the plot later in the series. Such a small thing, i know, but these are the details I weaved into the story.

I'll never regret self publishing. I'm happy with my books finally being on paper and in the world for others to enjoy.
